My vag is safe. Well, relatively anyway.
j weighs in around 6 lbs, 7 oz (give or take some margin of error of course). Even if that is 2 lbs high, he is already bigger than J when he was born. Right now the prediction is for j to come in around 8 1/2 lbs (where I was at when born). Not huge, just on the upper end of normal. I will take it.
All his measurements look great, cord looks good, heart looks good, we could see him taking some "breaths" and swallowing, so that is good as well. j is head down and should stay that way, so breech shouldn't be an issue. Now when I tell him to get his ass out of my ribs, I am quite correct.

It has been brought to my attention
That I suck at blogging. Le sigh. So let's play catch up.
Shower was on December 4. My family showed up. J's had a minimal appearance. No drama from them. Oh darn. I scored a ton of stuff- I thought I had a bunch of duplicates, but turns out one set would be 0-3 months, then the other 3-6 months, so it worked wonderfully.
A photo of my swag:

The following Tuesday was my work shower- got a bunch more awesome stuff (and one duplicate big item that I have since returned, but not bad considering).
Other than that, it's been pretty uneventful here for the most part. Just normal pains and whatnot. We finished up our Infant Care and CPR class last Thursday, we will finish Lamaze on Wednesday night. Most eventful change- from my 30 week to 32 week appointment, my fundal height (which had been measuring dead on prior to my 30 week appointment- it should be about 1 cm per week pregnant) went from 31 to 34, and I put on 5 lbs those two weeks. So I get another u/s on the 28th! Yippee! I checked with my friend that goes to the same OB to make sure this was standard practice and he just doesn't mention it in advance, but it is not. We (or better, me) are hoping for a non-giant baby. Since my dates obviously cannot be off, that cannot be the issue.
My sister's small baby was 9 lb. Her big one was 10lbs, 15 oz. Pray for my vag.

Just because I don't have a penis
Does not make me automatically incompetent when it comes to fixing things.
I kind of expect things like this at work. Construction is a very male dominated industry- and the older they are, the worse they tend to be about sexism. I had times years ago when I worked with my mom that a customer would come in and I would have to beg the details off them. I'd write up the order, then they would bitch that I didn't know what I was doing and want to talk to the owner. I'd go get him, they go through their info again, then I hand him the ticket I wrote up and ask if I missed anything. 99.9% of the time the answer was "Nope. Looks good." And he'd go back to his office. Jackholes- just because I am a female in my 20's doesn't make me completely ignorant about this crap. When I left there, I had been there for 7 years and have done work on a few jobsites. I am by no means an expert, but damn it I know the basics. Now that I am back in the industry I run into this every now and then, though I love it when I can pull some random bit out of my ass and make one of our male project managers look stupid. It doesn't happen often, but it's great when it does.
So anyway, to the point of today's story. MIL's sink had been leaking, so she bought a new one. Problem #1- leaving an 80 year old woman to purchase something she knows nothing about. Problem #2- Attempting to explain to her why what she bought will never fit in the counter she has. That was a fun one. "Just get the jigsaw and we will cut the hole bigger."
J- "We can't mom."
"Well, why not?"
J- "Well, we would be cutting into the supports for the cabinet and it would hang over the end. And we would have to replace the pipe because it's not going to match the drain holes."
"Oh, it will fit."
So off to Menard's we go to exchange what she bought. New problem- the sink size she needs doesn't exist. Well, not as a standard size anyway. We head to Home Depot, hoping for a little better luck. Nope. J went to find some help in case we just weren't seeing it. So while we are waiting, MIL wanders away. Dear Lord, we need a leash for this woman (she did the same thing in Menards). She comes back with 2 people to help, and the one that was coming to meet J showed up at the same time, so we now have 3 employees trying to help us. And MIL talking circles around them all.
We finally discovered the issue- it's a trailer. They are a special order size. Definitely not in MIL's budget. Fortunately J comes up with a solution- replace the drain hookups and the faucet. Easy peasy- this shouldn't take an hour. Shouldn't in the operative word.
J got the faucet put on and the drains replaced- no problems. Then he went to hook up the water. Problem. The plastic nut is broken (and likely the source of MIL's leak issue). Back to Home Depot. You would think that having worked with piping and insulation for 10+ years, I would know to look at the fucking pipe sizes. The box did say 1/2" IPS though (which is standard for sink hookups). So we go to get the parts. For those that have ever worked with this, most hookups have nuts that you attach to the shut off and one to the faucet- extremely easy replacement. You think this is true for a trailer? Of fucking course not. Why would they be? They are PEX, which requires you to have a $50 to properly crimp the ends together. Spectacular.
The employee that was helping us pick out the PEX crap mentioned that they did rent the tool. Excellent. Problem solved. Rent it, go hook everything up, bring it back. Ta da.
Come on now, you should know that was so not the end of the story.
After the guy left, I mentioned to J that the hookups have the be 1/2", and he keeps grabbing 3/8" items. Those do not mix oh so well. He pulls down a stick of 1/2" and looks at the opening. "That's way too big."
"It's 1/2". Trust me."
"I replace this kind of stuff in trucks all day. I know what I am talking about."
After about 5 minutes of this, I say fuck it, we'll have to come back. So we go to rent the tool. Guess what size is the one they don't rent? That's right kids- 3/8". So now we have to buy a $50 tool to put on $5 worth of pipe. Fuck me. We found a cheapo alternative for $25, but still. Fuck.
We get back to the house, where I make a beeline for the sink. J had called MIL to confirm the size- she measured the outside of the opening and said it was 1/2".
Of course it is- those fittings are INSIDE the piping. Iron Pipe Sizing (IPS- I know I've used it a couple times, my bad) is measured by the diameter on the INSIDE OF THE FUCKING PIPE. Which means- it's 1/2" IPS pipe that we need, and all our pipe, fittings, and tool are the wrong damn size.
On the plus side, I got to gloat all the way back to Home Depot to make the return. Teach you to not listen to me J. Though his son was getting me back as j has taken up residence on my right side and is causing wonderful hip pain.

Shove that up your tailpipe old OB.
Come tell me again how I am clearly diabetic you whore. 1 hour glucose test- passed, with points to spare. Sit and spin on the bitch.
I was at 129, my OB makes the cutoff at 140. I will take it. My iron was slightly low- 11.7, they like to see 12. It's not low enough that they are concerned about it. Antibody test was negative, which is good. I am now shot in the ass and good to go. Now I just have to kill 80 days.

j may end up being an only child at this rate.
I know I don't have much room to bitch- I have had a pretty easy pregnancy. Some morning sickness, but never vomited (well once, but that's because I rolled over and my hair went in my mouth and gagged me, so I really don't count that). Other than my poop related one, no major scares of any kind. Heartburn, but not to the point that it keeps me from eating. No real restrictions of any kind other than basic "you are pregnant, don't be a dumbfuck" type restrictions.
And I fucking hate this. With a passion. I want nothing to do with this ever again. I just want to be normal again. Le sigh. 83-ish more days and then I can be a new version of normal (as long as the new version includes being able to get my own ass out of the bathtub again. We can work on the rest of the details).

Today's post brought to you by the letters L&D.
Don't worry, everything's fine.
Tell me that a couple hours ago though. I had noticed a little blood when I wiped, but I had a notable bowel movement earlier and was chalking it up to being a little more than my butt could handle. No biggie.
Fast forward to waking up with abdominal pains- huge gas build up. Joy. Tried to go a couple times, but nothing. Passed a little gas, but not enough where it was any kind of relief. I decided to try to shit again- got a little that time, but nothing near what I was expecting given the kind of work I was doing. Le sigh. I figured back to bed so I could be uncomfortable again.
And then I wiped. I haven't seen that much blood since my last period- and defintely not with some clots in it. Enter freak out mode. (Oh, and of course it's when J is at drill 2 hours away. What other fucking time would it happen?)
I made the call to the on-call nurse/midwife who promptly sent me to L&D. Joy. That calms me down. Not. Had to wake up B (J's nephew's girlfriend) to meet me at the hospital. Then off I go, still trying to get a hold of J, which I finally did. He ran off to get released from drill so he could come home.
So off I went to L&D. Got checked in, then they took me to one of the rooms (the one they used to show us around during the hospital tour). I have determined I definitely don't want to be tied to the bed during delivery unless necessary- those beds suck ass. Anyway, nurse came in to hook up the monitors. She took the fetal one and started searching for j. And searched. And searched. And searched. Longest fucking minute of my life. She finally found him, hooked up that one and the one to monitor for contractions. Then nothing to do but wait and see how those looked for a while (and recheck my blood pressure since for some reason it was elevated. Hmm, I wonder why).
Everything on the monitor looked great- j was going good (and like many babies, not a huge fan on the monitor. Took him about a minute to start kicking at it). I had one contraction (must have been a big one as I had no idea). So on to the next step was to check my cervix. Dear Lord, I am not looking forward to having that done again. She tried with a speculum first, but couldn't quite get a good enough view (though she did get some more blood. great). She checked it manually- thick, closed, no issues there. Bleeding was definitely not from the placenta or anything.
Nurse called the nurse/midwife on call and they came to the same determination- it was caused by likely a broken vessel or two from when I was straining to poop.
Discharge instructions- get some stool softener. And call back if there are more clots.

Of course it's special order
Asshats. There's a reason I don't shop at Babies R Us. If you have a model on the floor, you should carry them in the store (then again, this is run by the same place that hires people, then has to put signs up at the price check scanners that those are not for employees to clock in. Oh how I wish I were kidding). We had a travel system picked out that we liked, was on sale...and it's mother fucking special order only. Grrr. K is not that patient- I was to play with my stroller NOW!
So we went to shop around, and found what we thought was a suitable replacement at an awesome cost. And it would have been an awesome cost- except it was the cost for the car seat only. Fuck me. So we were going through the discontinued styles to see if we likes something. Never failed- every one we liked they either had the stroller but no car seat, or vice versa. The store clerk (who was very patient I must say) said that they did have one travel system in stock that they didn't have on the floor and the colors were similar to what we had been looking at. Score- let's see it.
So he lugs out the box and cuts it open- perfect. One problem- the ones we had been looking at had a SnugRide35. This is just a SnugRide. J gave me the side eye- "do we really want to be lugging around a 35 lb kid in a carrier?". j kicked his approval at the comment. Fine- get it. They are teaming up on me already- I don't like this.
So we have our travel system- Graco Stylus in Boxy.

Oh yes, dr's appointment went well today. Heart rate around 140, everything measures good, I'm up 4 from last month- right on schedule. Now we begin appointments every two weeks. I won't have my glucose test until December 1, so I can enjoy Thanksgiving for sure- woo hoo!
