20 weeks!

It's the return of the craptastical blogger! But I come bearing pictures!

As of this morning I am up 12 lbs (so much for keeping overall gain to 15- I don't see that happening). 13 days until we find out what kind of baby is in there. I'll have nursery progress pics at some point, but I am still working on the floor. It's proving to be a bigger project than expected.

And of course I would end up looking pissed in the best pic J took. Figures.

Reasons I love J's family

For those that did not know, J's father passed away last Friday. For us that meant a weekend of funeral preparations and lots of family time (oh joy). Between the massive headaches from my MIL and her inability to let the be silence for more than 1 second and the reason why we were there- K has been a bit stressed.

So I am not even about to get into the drama that started today at the funeral. It was stupid shit and should have never happened (no, I was in no way, shape, or form involved). But I need to find a something good out of this.

So the top 3 reasons I love J's family.

3. They are never a dull bunch. If you are bored it's probably because you hid in a corner and cranked up your iPod.

2. If it wasn't for them, J wouldn't be the way he is. Whackadoo that my MIL is, it helped make him a far more patient person (which comes in handy at times).

And the number one reason?

THEY MAKE MY FAMILY LOOK SANE! And that my friends is one hell of an acocmplishment.

Oh yes, my appointment today went well. Baby is fine- hb still around 160, everything looking just as it should (though no explanation for my mechanical sounds headaches. Stupid A/C's and their making me want to fall over). U/s will be on October 6th.

So yeah.

It appears there is a little more there than there was last week. (Or it's J's horrible picture taking skills. I may go back to self shots after this)

I swear I could lay on my stomach last night. This morning? Not so much. I had to start using the spiffy belly pillow at the chiropractor too. And I have pretty much given up on normal pants. Yippee.

This is what happens

when you combine a full sinus (apparently that hasn't cleared up yet) with a emotionally charged pukefest.

After receiving an 11:15 PM call from J last night that he would not be deploying after all and going through all the emotions that come with that, I ended up puking. And apparently fucking up a few blood vessels in the process. Lovely. I could tell people at work wanted to ask, yet didn't want to. Yep, just stare. That's comfortable for everyone.

I'm still a little pissed about the last second cancellation considering the higher up fuckwads have known for 6 months that they needed to cut the deployment list and they wait until they are at their Mob station to make the decision. Assholes. That's 76 families that didn't need to go through the stress of preparing. 76 families that wouldn't have had to say good bye. 76 families that wouldn't have had their lives unnecessarily up-ended because some asshole couldn't be bothered to do their job sooner.

On the plus side, this now means J will get to be here for all the pregnancy fun. Maybe he'll choose going to Kuwait to join up with some random strangers next time!

Now for more entertaining issues.

So I thought I had the whole nursery theme figured out. Safari goes with the room colors. I had originally wanted sheep, but it's a bitch to find decor. Or so I thought. Damn you Baby Bargains and your suggestions. Now I am all confuzzled.

So here is the room (ignore the crap that's in there, it's all coming out in the next 6 months). I have intentions of changing the color- it will be touched up, but that is it.

The closest curtains are obviously open for change as well.

So that brings me to the two options. First off sheep/lambs.
Bedding: (PBK Sweet Lambie) My only issue is they are white faced sheep (yes, I am breed loyal when it comes to my sheep. We never raised white faces because they weren't as good for meat. Anyway).

My issue came in with call decor, but I think that has been solved, as I found a couple options:

My only issue is this is so not the colors I was going for, but I think it would work if done correctly.

Would this so not go with the colors in the room? And black faced sheep? Bonus!

And finally in the sheep category- it's more of a farm one, but still would work.

So now on to Safari.
Bedding: NoJo Brand Jungle Babies. Found this at Kids Place Superstore, then went to Shop Ko and found the same set $40 cheaper. Go figure. And I don't believe it has a giraffe (which is funny given the decor I am looking at).

Decor:
I love, love, love this and think it would go great in the room.

I like this one too, but question how the giraffe would look on the wall color.

And last but not least- more giraffes. They do offer this in a dark green/kiwi/cocoa as opposed to the sunflower/tan/green herb shown, which I think would solve some of the color issues. Though the colors would likely be fine on the darker accent wall.

Decisions, decisions. Good thing I have time!
